How to cancel Instapage: trials, paid plans, and refunds
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Instapage Reviews · Updated September 28, 2026 · Sourced to Instapage's Terms of Service and help center
On the 14-day trial, cancel in the app: workspace name, My Account Admin, Subscription, Cancel Account. On a paid plan there is no cancel button. The account owner emails help@instapage.com from the account's email address, and the cancellation takes effect at the next billing cycle. Plans renew for the same period as the first one, and the Terms say fees are non-refundable, so send the request well before your renewal date and keep the written confirmation.
1. Cancel an Instapage free trial
Trials of the Create and Optimize plans can be cancelled in the app. Instapage's help center gives the steps:
- Click the name of your workspace in the upper left.
- Open My Account Admin.
- Go to Subscription.
- Click Cancel Account at the bottom left.
The plans page describes the same thing with older labels (Account Management tab, Subscriptions, Cancel). Cancel before day 14, and before your pages pass 2,500 unique visitors: either one ends the trial and charges your card for the plan you chose. Instapage says it emails a reminder toward the end of the trial. More on the trial rules is in our Instapage free trial guide.
2. Cancel a paid Instapage plan by email
Once a trial turns into a paid plan, cancelling is done through support only. The help center says:
“Important note: Once the account is upgraded to a paid plan, the cancellation can only be processed after the request for cancellation is sent by the owner of the account at help@instapage.com .”Instapage help center, Termination of contract
- Email help@instapage.com from the email address tied to the account, and say plainly that you want to cancel the subscription.
- If you can't send from that address, Instapage may ask for proof of ownership, such as the last four digits of the card and its expiration date. Include them to save a round trip.
- The cancellation takes effect from the date of the next billing cycle, so you keep access until then.
- Support's typical first reply time is one working day, with no weekend coverage. Allow for that near a renewal date.
- Keep the reply. The Terms treat written confirmation from support as your proof of notice.
- Stopping use does not cancel. The help center says inactive accounts are not considered terminated unless you send a request.
3. Know the Instapage renewal terms
Instapage plans renew on their own. Section 12.1 of the Terms says:
“The initial subscription period for your Services will be specified in the Subscription Terms. The Agreement will automatically renew for successive subscription periods equal to your initial subscription period until one party terminates it. If no subscription period is specified, the Agreement will renew month-to-month.”Instapage Terms of Service, 12.1
An annual plan renews for another year. Instapage publishes a reminder email only for trials; we found no stated reminder before a paid renewal. Switching from annual to monthly after the billing period starts also needs an email to the billing team. Price changes apply from your next subscription period (section 8.4).
4. Know what the Terms say about Instapage refunds
“Except as otherwise agreed by Provider, all fees are non-refundable, even if you are not using the Services or have only briefly used the Services.”Instapage Terms of Service, 8.1
“Provider will not refund you any fees on termination except as otherwise agreed by Provider.”Instapage Terms of Service, 12.2
Section 8.1 also says Instapage may offer a refund policy to first-time buyers who purchased through self-serve checkout without a sales rep. In September 2024 Instapage announced a 7-day money-back guarantee on its blog. We could not find it on the current plans page, in the Terms (last updated August 19, 2024), or in the help center. If you are within a week of a first purchase, ask support in writing whether it still applies.
For a billing question or a disputed invoice, section 8.7 asks you to contact support within 30 days of the payment or invoice. Instapage says that if you go to your bank first, it may use that against your dispute.
5. Save your pages and leads before you cancel
According to the help center, after cancelling:
- Your pages are unpublished and their URLs stop working, so update any ads or links that point to them first.
- You keep access to a draft-only builder (Instapage calls it the Free Builder), where you can edit pages and invite team members.
- You can view past analytics and form submissions, but you can't collect new leads.
- If the account is terminated, you have 30 days to request a download of your content. After that Instapage may delete the account and its data.
Export your leads and anything you need from the pages before you send the request. Instapage has no pause option, so cancelling is also how you pause.
Tips for cancelling Instapage without a surprise charge
- Note your renewal date from your last invoice and set a reminder two weeks before it.
- Send the cancellation email from the account owner's address, not a colleague's.
- Keep support's written confirmation, and screenshot the subscription page.
- Check your spam folder for follow-up questions from support.
- Check your next card statement. If a charge still appears, reply to the confirmation thread within 30 days.
What Instapage customers say about cancelling
These are unprompted Trustpilot reviews from 2022 and 2023, before the current help center wording was last updated. Each is one customer's account, which we haven't verified. They match the terms above: email-only cancellation, ownership checks, and annual renewals.
“They have aggressive pricing and auto-renewed a lock-in 12 month contract without sending any reminders.”Luke B., Trustpilot, Mar 2023
“They then came back a week later with an email that landed in my junk folder with a long list of things I had to provide to cancel, all of which they had on their system already.”Charlie C., Trustpilot, May 2022
“They know how to put a cancel button in your account management screen; they make you send an email to customer support.”Aaron, Trustpilot, Feb 2022
“It is true that you have to provide some information to cancel - to verify your account. But if you do so the process is smooth and expedient.”Michael, Trustpilot, Aug 2022

Does the FTC click-to-cancel rule apply to Instapage?
Unclear, and you shouldn't count on it. The FTC announced its final “click-to-cancel” rule on October 16, 2024. The Eighth Circuit vacated it in July 2025, and the FTC has kept enforcing through ROSCA and Section 5 of the FTC Act. On March 11, 2026 the FTC asked for public comment on a new advance notice of proposed rulemaking for the Negative Option Rule. As of 2026-09-28 we found no source saying a new rule is in force, and none saying whether these rules cover business buyers of software like Instapage.
This page explains Instapage's published terms and process as of 2026-09-28. It isn't legal advice. Your contract, especially a sales-negotiated one, may differ, so check your own Subscription Terms and ask Instapage support in writing.

Instapage cancellation FAQ
Can I cancel Instapage online?+
Only during the free trial. Click your workspace name in the upper left, then My Account Admin, then Subscription, then Cancel Account. Once you're on a paid plan, Instapage's help center says the account owner has to email help@instapage.com to cancel.
Does Instapage give refunds?+
Not by default. Section 8.1 of the Terms says fees are non-refundable except as otherwise agreed by Instapage, and section 12.2 says fees are not refunded on termination except as otherwise agreed by Instapage. The Terms allow for a refund policy for first-time self-serve buyers. Instapage announced a 7-day money-back guarantee in 2024, but it isn't in the current Terms or plans page, so ask support before relying on it.
When does an Instapage cancellation take effect?+
For paid plans, from the date of the next billing cycle, according to the help center. You keep access until then. Cancelling a trial before it ends means your card isn't charged.
What happens to my Instapage pages after I cancel?+
They are unpublished and their URLs stop working. You keep access to a draft-only builder (Instapage calls it the Free Builder) where you can still edit pages and view past analytics and form submissions, but you can't collect new leads. If the account is terminated, you have 30 days to request a download of your content.
Can I pause Instapage instead of cancelling?+
No. Instapage has no pause option. Its help center says pausing is handled by cancelling the current plan.
