By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Instapage Reviews · Updated September 28, 2026
Unbounce costs less to start. Its Starter plan is $29 a month, Build gets you 20k visitors for $99, A/B testing comes in at $149, and the trial needs no card. If you run a handful of pages on a tight budget, start with Unbounce. It also has Smart Traffic, which sends each visitor to the variant likely to convert best.
Instapage costs more ($99 to start, $199 for A/B testing), and the extra money buys features for teams that live in paid ads. Tests run server-side. Designers and clients can leave comments directly on the page. On the Convert plan, AdMap and ad-to-page personalization tie each ad to its own page. Most of its invited reviewers mention support. Invited Trustpilot reviews favor Instapage (4.89 vs 4.07), while unprompted reviews lean slightly toward Unbounce (2.31 vs 2.07).

Instapage vs Unbounce pricing
Unbounce wins on price at every entry point. Starter ($29) suits a single campaign, as long as 5 pages and 500 visitors a month are enough. At $99 a month, Unbounce Build gives you 20k visitors and Instapage Create gives you 15,000. Billed yearly, Build drops to $74 and Create to $79. If you need testing, Unbounce Experiment costs $149 and Instapage Optimize costs $199. Both vendors bill overages when you pass your visitor limit. Our Instapage pricing guide covers each plan in detail.
Testing and ad personalization: what the extra money buys
Instapage runs A/B tests server-side, which it says keeps the page from flickering as a variant loads. Each test starts with a written hypothesis, and past tests stay in an experiment history you can restore variants from. Real-time collaboration comes on every plan: teammates and clients leave threaded comments on the page itself. The Convert plan adds AdMap, which maps each ad to its landing page, plus ad-to-page personalization and global blocks, forms, and popups that you edit once and update everywhere. Unbounce's answer is Smart Traffic, which routes visitors by device, location, and similar signals.

“Love the ability to collaborate with clients on page edits.”Anna E., Capterra (Instapage), Jul 2023

“If you are looking for a builder that works well with Google Ads, I think this is the best.”Jared Berryman, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Dec 2024
Billing, renewals, and refunds
Neither company offers an easy refund. Unbounce's Terms call fees "strictly non-refundable" and rule out credits for cancellations. Instapage's Terms also say fees are non-refundable, with an exception for a refund policy offered to some first-time self-serve buyers. Complaints about charges after cancelling or renewing turn up among the unprompted reviews of both, so set a calendar reminder before any renewal date.
“They keep billing me even though I have cancelled. This has been going on for 4 months now.”Adam Kendrick, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Apr 2026
“auto-renewed a lock-in 12 month contract without sending any reminders”Luke Bradley, Trustpilot (Instapage), Mar 2023
