Instapage vs Leadpages: unlimited traffic or a tool for ad teams?
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Instapage Reviews · Updated September 28, 2026
On paper, Leadpages gives you more for the money. Its Grow plan costs the same $99 as Instapage Create but has no traffic cap and includes A/B testing. Heatmaps come at $199, where Instapage keeps them on its custom Convert plan. If you only need to publish a few pages, HTML Pub starts at $10 a month. Budget-minded solo marketers and small teams should look at Leadpages first.
Leadpages rebuilt its product in 2026, though, and the new version has a short track record. Some recent reviews describe lost pages and leads after the switch. Instapage fits ad teams that want server-side tests, on-page comments for teammates and clients, and AdMap on Convert. Its unprompted Trustpilot reviews average higher (2.07 vs 1.22). Invited reviews are level (4.89 vs 4.92), and Leadpages leads in our G2 sample.

Instapage vs Leadpages pricing and traffic limits
The biggest difference is how each plan is metered. Instapage counts unique monthly visitors (15,000 on Create, 30,000 on Optimize) and its Terms (8.2) bill excess usage above the limit. Leadpages advertises "Unlimited traffic on every plan. No traffic overage fees." It meters other things instead: custom domains, AI credits, active integrations (5 on Grow), and team seats. If a paid campaign could send 50,000 visitors a month to your pages, Leadpages will cost less. Instapage's own reviewers make the price point too.
“Other landing page creation tools like LeadPages etc have much cheaper plans for small businesses”Vaibhav D., Capterra, Aug 2022

The 2026 Leadpages rebuild changes which reviews count
Leadpages says it "rebuilt the product from the ground up" in 2026, adding A/B testing, Smart Traffic, and heatmaps. Most of its review history describes the product that came before. In our G2 pull, 39 of 47 rated reviews predate 2024, so its 4.59 sample average (against Instapage's 4.40) mostly rates the old product. Both samples are mostly incentivized: 35 of 47 for Leadpages, 50 of 54 for Instapage. On Trustpilot, recent unprompted reviews of the new product are harsh, and some describe a migration that went wrong.
“New website builder deleted all previous data, all leads, half of the pages we built, and all of the lead magnets.”Lena Anderson, Trustpilot (Leadpages), Jun 2026
“Lots of beautiful templates and great customer support.”Ramona Borg, Trustpilot (Leadpages), May 2025
Instapage vs Leadpages reviews, like for like
Invited Trustpilot reviews are level: 4.89 for Instapage (35 reviews) and 4.92 for Leadpages (13). Unprompted reviews separate them. Instapage averages 2.07 across 15, Leadpages 1.22 across 37. Leadpages' unprompted complaints center on auto-renewals, trials that turned into annual charges, and cancelling. Instapage has the same kind of complaint in its own history, mostly from 2022 and 2023.
“I was charged $488 to auto-renew a Leadpages account I hadn't logged into in two years.”Zak Taylor, Trustpilot (Leadpages), May 2026
“Signed up for a free trial. Took me three months to realize they'd been billing me.”Jacs, Trustpilot, Feb 2023
Both trials need a card and convert to a paid plan unless you cancel: Leadpages after 7 days (it sends a reminder on day 5), Instapage after 14 days or 2,500 visitors, whichever comes first (it emails a reminder near the end). See how the Instapage free trial works and how to cancel Instapage.

Instapage vs Leadpages FAQ
Is Instapage or Leadpages cheaper?+
Leadpages, for most buyers. Both flagship plans start at $99 a month ($79 billed annually), but Leadpages Grow has no traffic cap and includes A/B testing, while Instapage Create is capped at 15,000 unique monthly visitors and leaves testing to Optimize ($199). Leadpages also sells HTML Pub, a publish-only line from $10 a month ($8 annually) with 5 pages and no A/B testing.
Does Leadpages have heatmaps and A/B testing?+
Yes. Leadpages offered A/B testing before 2026; its 2026 rebuild added heatmaps and Smart Traffic. Manual A/B testing is on every Leadpages plan from Grow ($99), with 2 variants per test on Grow and 4 on Optimize and Scale. Heatmaps come with Optimize ($199). On Instapage, A/B testing starts on Optimize ($199) and heatmaps are on the custom-priced Convert plan.
Are old Leadpages reviews still accurate?+
Many are not. Leadpages rebuilt its product in 2026 and changed its plans, so reviews from before then describe the old editor and the old Standard and Pro plans. In our G2 pull (2026-09-27), 39 of the 47 rated Leadpages reviews predate 2024. Recent Trustpilot reviews do cover the rebuilt product, including complaints about lost data after the switch.
Can I get a refund from Leadpages or Instapage?+
Leadpages' sources disagree. Its FAQ says it doesn't offer refunds on subscription payments, while its Terms (updated April 2, 2026, section 7.3) describe a 7-day money-back guarantee for new accounts that excludes renewals. Instapage's Terms say fees are non-refundable, with an exception for a refund policy offered to some first-time self-serve buyers. Ask in writing before you pay.
