Why marketers leave Unbounce

We pulled the 50 most recent Unbounce reviews on Trustpilot on 2026-09-27. Trustpilot labels each one as invited or unprompted. The 14 invited reviews average 4.07 and the 36 unprompted ones average 2.31. Trustpilot's overall score for Unbounce is 1.9 across 180 reviews, and Trustpilot notes Unbounce has no recent history of asking customers for reviews.

Among the 29 reviews rated three stars or lower, the same complaints come up: support that is hard to reach, billing that continued after cancelling, refused refunds, price increases or features removed mid-term, and the Smart Builder editor.

“Increased prices by 3X without agreement.”Wayland Coles, Trustpilot, June 2025
“They keep billing me even though I have cancelled. This has been going on for 4 months now.”Adam Kendrick, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Apr 2026
“The new Smart Builder is basically a downgrade disguised as an upgrade.”Lara Inacio, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Oct 2025
“They force you to use AI chatbots, and if you click on a support article, they cleverly close your ticket out.”Sean Turntine, Trustpilot, February 2025

The 4 best Unbounce alternatives

  1. Instapage

    Team workflow and human support

The closest match for Unbounce's audience of marketers running paid ads. Among reviewers Trustpilot marks as invited, Instapage averages 4.89 (35 reviews) against Unbounce's 4.07 (14), most of which praise its support. On unprompted reviews Unbounce is slightly ahead, 2.31 (36) against 2.07 (15). Every plan includes unlimited pages, popups, and real-time collaboration, and Create allows 10 team members where Unbounce Build has one user. Instapage costs more. Create is $79 a month annual ($99 monthly) for 15,000 unique visitors, while Unbounce Build is $74 ($99) for 20,000, and A/B testing needs Instapage Optimize at $199 a month against $149 for Unbounce Experiment. The 14-day free trial needs a card, and Instapage has its own renewal and price complaints on Trustpilot.

  2. Leadpages

If traffic caps are the problem

The only builder here with no traffic caps: every Leadpages plan includes unlimited traffic. Grow ($99 a month, $79 annual) includes A/B testing and dynamic text replacement, and Optimize ($199) adds Smart Traffic and heatmaps. Leadpages rebuilt its product in 2026, so most older reviews describe a different tool. Its unprompted Trustpilot reviews are the weakest here, averaging 1.22 (37), with auto-renewal charges and hard cancellation the main complaints. The 7-day trial needs a card.

  3. Landingi

    If price is the problem

A low entry price for a full builder: Build is $24 a month yearly ($29 monthly) with dynamic text replacement included, and A/B testing starts on Optimize at $119 a month yearly. Agencies get client sub-accounts and branding from Scale ($229 a month yearly). Reviewers rate it well, with unprompted Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.65 (48), though 38 of those are from 2018 and 2019. Build caps you at 10 active pages and 2,000 visits a month, popups start on Optimize, and G2 reviewers often have to rebuild mobile layouts by hand.

  4. Swipe Pages

If you want cheap, fast mobile pages

Startup is $29 a month annual ($39 monthly) with 20,000 visitors, the same traffic as Unbounce Build for less than half the price, and Marketer adds A/B testing at $69. AMP pages, Mobile Slides, and checkout come on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card. Its terms say no refunds and all sales are final. Trustpilot has suspended its rating for a guidelines breach, and recent reviews there complain about slow support and failed publishing.

When to stay with Unbounce

Unbounce still does some things better than the tools above. Smart Traffic uses AI to send each visitor to their best-match page, on the Optimize plan ($249 a month). Experiment gives you unlimited A/B testing and dynamic text replacement for $149 a month, less than Instapage Optimize. Build includes 20,000 visitors at $99, and the trial needs no card. If you pay yearly and have months left on the term, the terms say you won't get a refund for cancelling early, so switching may cost more than staying until renewal. Its invited reviewers like it for Google Ads work.

“If you are looking for a builder that works well with Google Ads, I think this is the best.”Jared Berryman, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Dec 2024

If support, the editor, or working as a team is why you're leaving, Instapage is the closest like-for-like move. Its reviewers mention human support often. Read its full review record, critical reviews included, and the pricing breakdown before you decide.

“And I am talking about real people, not AI.”Davyd Kucherskyy, Trustpilot (Instapage review), May 2026
