Unbounce vs Leadpages: traffic caps, testing, and billing compared
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Instapage Reviews · Updated September 28, 2026
Leadpages gives more for the money on paper. Its $99 Grow plan has no traffic cap and includes A/B testing, and its $199 Optimize plan adds Smart Traffic and heatmaps. Unbounce caps Build at 20k visitors for $99, starts A/B testing at $149, and puts Smart Traffic on its $249 Optimize plan.
Unbounce is the easier one to try: its trial runs 14 days without a card. Leadpages rebuilt its product in 2026, and some recent reviews describe lost pages and leads in the move. Pick Leadpages for high traffic or testing on a budget, and Unbounce if you want to try before handing over a card. Both draw billing complaints, so note your renewal date either way.

Unbounce vs Leadpages pricing and traffic
The two price in different ways. Unbounce meters monthly unique visitors and charges a one-time amount when you go over, at rates it doesn't publish. Leadpages doesn't meter traffic on its Leadpages plans. It limits custom domains, AI credits, active integrations (5 on Grow, 10 on Optimize, 25 on Scale), and team seats. Its pricing page names the Unbounce cap outright. For a site with steady paid traffic, Leadpages costs less at each testing tier. For a single small campaign, both entry plans stop at 5 pages, and HTML Pub is cheaper but can't run tests.
Trials, refunds, and renewals
Unbounce's 14-day trial needs no card. Leadpages takes a card at the start and converts to Grow at $99 a month on day 7 unless you cancel, with a reminder on day 5. After that, Unbounce's Terms call fees "strictly non-refundable." Leadpages' own pages disagree with each other: its FAQ says it doesn't offer refunds on subscription payments, while its Terms (updated April 2, 2026) describe a 7-day money-back guarantee for new accounts that excludes renewals. Unbounce vs Leadpages reviews, like for like
Most of their latest Trustpilot reviews are unprompted: 36 of 50 for Unbounce and 37 of 50 for Leadpages. Among those, Unbounce averages 2.31 (36 reviews) and Leadpages 1.22 (37). The smaller invited samples go the other way: Leadpages 4.92 (13), Unbounce 4.07 (14). Both sets of critics complain about billing and cancelling. Each also has a new-editor problem: Unbounce's Smart Builder and the rebuilt Leadpages both draw complaints from long-time users.
“The new Smart Builder is basically a downgrade disguised as an upgrade.”Lara Inacio, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Oct 2025
“once we understood how the grids worked, we built the pages quite quickly.”Max, Trustpilot (Unbounce), Jan 2026
“They've slapped so much AI slop into this now it's unusable.”Marc Inglis, Trustpilot (Leadpages), Aug 2026
“You can't cancel your plan. The docs say something else, but the actual cancel button is missing.”Niemea, Trustpilot (Leadpages), May 2026

When neither fits: Instapage
Both tools suit small teams on a budget. Teams that run paid ads at volume sometimes outgrow them. Instapage runs A/B tests server-side with a written hypothesis and a history of past tests. It gives 10 team members on-page comments from the entry plan, and its Convert plan adds AdMap and ad-to-page personalization. It also costs more: $99 a month for 15,000 visitors, testing from $199, a trial that needs a card, and overage fees under its Terms. On Trustpilot its invited reviews average 4.89 (n=35), ahead of Unbounce and level with Leadpages. Its unprompted average of 2.07 (n=15) sits between the two. Our Instapage vs Unbounce and Instapage vs Leadpages pages compare it with each, and the Unbounce alternatives and Leadpages alternatives lists cover the rest of the field.
